US Envoys Hold Talks With Russia and Ukraine on Peace Efforts

US envoys recently held talks with representatives from Russia and Ukraine, aiming to revive peace negotiations. The discussions marked a return to a trilateral format, with participants engaging in friendly dialogue in Russian, according to officials involved.

The envoys expressed confidence that a positive resolution could be reached soon. One official noted that returning to the trilateral format about six months ago had been productive, allowing for good, concrete conversations. "Everyone was speaking, you know, in Russian to each other and really discussing these issues in a very actually friendly manner, all in Russian," the official said.

The talks included substantive plans for next steps, which are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. The US side emphasized the importance of maintaining relationships with both Russia and Ukraine, stating that poor communication would reduce chances of a peaceful resolution.

Efforts also focused on preventing further loss of life and ending the war fairly for all parties involved. The US envoy highlighted the goal of ensuring that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine is never repeated. Additionally, the US plans to increase production volumes of Patriot anti-ballistic missiles next year, which Ukraine counts on for its defense.

The envoys’ visit included stops in Kyiv and Moscow, reflecting ongoing operational presence and deepening bilateral cooperation. The discussions are part of broader diplomatic efforts to find a settlement and enhance ties between the involved nations.
